This Texas established drama has the feel of a cable tv series and the pacing of a movie, which makes it an amusing, character-driven story that will make you sympathize with the main character. There isn’t any procedural factor to this collection. It’s a primetime soap opera with a very fascinating and talented ensemble cast that will surely leave you wanting more. The series concentrates on the dynamics of the characters and the circumstances they are in. There are many dynamics revealed in the premiere episode and Robert/Bob is going to have to con his way through them all as the series gets better. The premise of the show is attracting, but in order to sustain a story through a broadcast network schedule is going to be interesting to observe unfold.
Living two lifestyles, in two unique cities, with two different women is an interesting premise in itself. Add the con man elements together with the oil business and you have a stellar show which is fun to watch moving forward. Robert/Bob not only has two beautiful women, but he also has two fathers so to speak—his biological father, John and his father-in-law, Clint. All of these dynamics in one episode make for an compelling journey and the characters can be challenging enough for me to complement to make the ride.
